Operation gratitude questions.12/7/2010

Today in the continuation of our final project Operation gratitude what i have done is try to pretty much get the word out and explain a little of what were doing and what were trying to support as to writing the letters and getting our main goal out there into the schools environment what i also did was pass out flyers an conversed with my peers the great effect it would have on a troop and put a smile on their faces
What i am doing to prepare for tomorrow and all is to continue to converse with my peers and get the word out for what we are doing tomorrow i shall also get students to want to write letters.

Operation gratitude questions.

What i did today for the betterment of this project was to make a large poster symbolizing the goal we as a class are to achieve on this project. I also spoke to a few people and had some personal opinions and had a little bit of an intake on what they might think about the project.To no surprise they were quite supportive.
What i am planning to do for tomorrow is to perfect the posters and hang them up also to have everyone pumped up to write and show their appreciation for the troops.

Student survey project.

Throughout our experiences in surveying the 100 students in la sierra we have come to see how many different options students want and what exactly they're opinions are to better our schools.We had a few questions for the students to see how many opinions we may gather and the way the students would respond to them.the majority of the students say that the main thing they would like changed at our hight school would be bettering the food system and not enforcing the dress code and having it as strict as it is,what the high schools top priority would be to the students would be the students education and getting them one step ahead of the game towards graduation.Most students would agree that lunch should be the same amount of time as classes are as they feel as if they should have time to relax and let everything sit in while trying to prepare for the classes ahead of time.One way of uniting the school would be to have a lot more pep rallies and having more school activities to get everyone more involved and have them know about everything thats going on throughput school.Also lastly,students would like to have better teachers and having the teaching styles work for them. In our school we are willing to look throughout and fulfill the students desires to better our schools and have everyone content with trying to reach their goals.Therefore we would be more than happy to succeed in having only great things happen.

SB-1070 REFLECTION.

During class we had a discussion about the Senate Bill 1070.I feel as if there were very good discussion because of how many key points that we hit throughout the conversation such as how this is affecting us economically as well well as emotionally. There has been violence throught this expierience for example the killing of a father and a daughter 8 years of age for no apparent reason. Also drug cartels are a major part in this discussion because they are the main ones to blame for the violence and they are making matters worst. I originally feel as if the bill was made not for racism or anything prejudiced about it but the law itself and people tend to feel victimized because they feel as if race was the main issue when in reality its not like that its the crime rate.Also the violence and mental abuse is affecting the economy very badly. Therefore with that being said i feel as if everyone stated their opinions and made great points.

Bush was right: We're not at war with Islam

Throughout the article of Bush was right:we're not at war with Islam,it describes how there are different things going on with muslims and how americans are taking their rage out on them.For example there were a few individuals who were perceived to be muslims at a gas station in mesa, Arizona was killed by a man who went on to shoot a lebanese clerk at another gas station. Although other than the important date of 9/11 there is also another imrtant date to remember which would be september 17th where president Bush spoke in New York city about how it wwas "vital for americans to understand that the terrorists did not reperesent the muslim tradition. Also in my opinion i feel as if since president bushes views on war arent great before he can actually be heard and viewed differently this time when he announces that 'Those who feel like they can intimidate our fellow citizens to take out their anger don't represent the best of america; they represent the worst of humankind,and they should be ashamed of that behavior".I fully agree witht ths statement because should be fully aware of how they are acting and how foolish it seems.

Reflection.

Throughout my experience in Mr. palos  class discussion i feel like there were some very strong points made about the mosque. In my opinion i feel as if our country are the ones failing on us because religious freedom is basically what we are all about what should make them the only exception.I also agree with how some people brought it to minds how there are things much more important than this cause such as SB 1070 and there should be more focus upon that. It was also mentioned the event of pearl harbor and i feel strongly that if they have a different mentality now and society has differed so much that they should put their differences aside and make amends for the time being to see how everything works out. Therefore i thought this experience with the class discussion was awesome and i would love to have many more throughout the semester.
